Feminism: A Love Story

"The world was hers for the reading."
Betty Smith

Obviously, feminism comes with cats
1. One word: intersectionality

2. How a woman in red lipstick, a dress, and heels can be just as good of a feminist as an androgynous woman with a rainbow tattoo

3. Or how a man can be an excellent feminist

4. Gender justice, this means everyone

5. Third wave feminism for it's inclusion

6. Realization that racism, classism, heterosexism, and ablism are feminist issues

7. Men's issues?  Also feminist issues

8. Empowerment for the disfranchised

9. Education and reality check for the privileged

10. How fucking stupid and limiting gender roles are

11. An aim towards younger women instead of assuming they cannot make a difference

12. Raised awareness of rape culture

13. Young women and men learning to accept themselves and realizing that media standards are complete bullshit

14. The amazing, eye opening Women's Studies classes that are available

15. Things like The Vagina Monologues

16. Choosing your own definition of feminism

17. How when you find out someone is a feminist, and you are a feminist, you immediately become friends

18. The sense of community between feminists

19. The understanding between feminists

20. Being able to discuss issues like the patriarchy and systematic oppression with people who know

21. Online feminist platforms

22. How feminism is cool

23. The sense of being a better, more informed, well rounded person

24. Being excited about feminism

25. Celebrating the fact that feminism exists and realizing how lost we would be without it

26. We are smart, ambitious, fabulous individuals

27. We don't take any shit

28. We try to better ourselves daily

29. We try to better others daily

30. Feminism is a lifestyle

I could write entire blog posts about all of these issues, but just a few of my favorite aspects of feminism, focusing mostly on third wavers.
