A Rant

While I enjoy listing the things that bring a little light into my life, sometimes I think it is good to let off a little steam and mention the things that really grate on your nerves.  I will be the first to admit, I get annoyed easily.  Much too easily.  Though I usually do a pretty good job of disguising my irritation with indifference.  I one told my sister, "If I seem extremely annoyed, well, shit, that's not a good sign."  So here is a list, in no particular order, of all the things I can think of that annoy me:

Drawers or cabinets that aren't closed or only partially closed
The caf's dirty silverware
When people try to pick a fight over something trivial
People who are so confident they are right when you have facts they are wrong
Christian fanatics
Feminists who still slut shame
When my food touches other food
Everyone in my English class, save a few
Loud breathing
People who complain about things they can so easily control
People who don't try yet still complain about the results
The person who answers the teacher's every question
Saying 'like' after every word
Homework in general
The disregard for the term bisexual
Republicans
Getting sunburned
Having writer's block
Cinnamon applesauce
Pizza with too much sauce on it
when someone takes the last shower on the left
Having to shave my legs
People who can't objectively view their actions...ever
People who assume they are the rule, meaning if they feel or think something, everyone must, at least somewhat
People who assume they are the exception, a special little snowflake
That gross misting sort of rain
Imitators
Country music
Reality TV
The color orange
Black and brown being worn together
How easily headphones get knotted
People who are on their phones during class or during a movie
How hard it is to jean shop
How girls shirts are always so sheer or low cut so you have to buy another to wear under
People who talk excessively loud all the time
Bad singers who sing all the time
Straight girls who flirt with non-straight girls for shits and giggles
Pretentious anything
Just about any relationship involving teenagers/young adults
These girls in my psychology class who always complain about who the teacher goes too fast through the slide show when she has the slides available on D2L weeks beforehand
People who walk and smoke so you have to walk through it
The hill
8:00am classes
People who dramatically change who they are to fit in
People who blatantly lie
Late night meetings
Heavy backpacks
Oversleeping
The sound of any alarm
The smell of food
Country music (enough for it to be on here twice)
Math
Shortened words like perf and totes and gorg
Facebook
Jewelry that turns your skin green
Cheaply made but expensive clothes
People who buy high end mascara (not worth it Mom!)
Public bathrooms

That's a lot...and it's not even close to being done...huh.

Paper Bag by Fiona Apple

One of my favorite songs at the moment.

I love how raw and real she sounds.  Like she's spinning poetry rather than just a simple tune.  It's rough yet delicate, like the pages of a diary.

The Awakening and The Funeral

Fragile edges are fraying,
leaving delicate traces
of an existence.
For others to pick up,
for others to tarnish.

I feel you.

I feel you
plucking bits of me.
A collection of myself
that I will no longer hold.
Though you are too weak
to truly feel.

I console myself with the truth.

I see you slip these
Pieces of soul,
a very being,
through blunt fingers and wrists.
Gaudy and awkward.

My mind turned,
but my eyes,
they see.
The metallic movements,
hideous and clumsy,
prick my inner eye.

Though it sheds not a tear
for myself,
but for you.

Paralysis

"All people dream, but not equally.
Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their mind,
Wake in the morning to find it was vanity.
But the dreamers of the day are dangerous people,
For they dreams their dreams with eye open,
And make them come true."
D.H. Lawrence

The Chill in the Air

I love fall.

I love the rapidly changing leaves. I love the warm jewel toned colors.  I love the shape of naked trees.   I love comfy, thick sweaters.  I love mittens, scarves, and knit hats.  I love the color spectrum of pumpkins.  I love the comfort food.  I love dark lipstick.  I love hikes on chilly days.  I love the sunsets over autumn leaves.  I love the prickling on noses and cheeks.  I love naturally pinked faces.  I love cozy beds with lots of blankets.  I love the fresh feeling.  I love the death and rebirth.  I love the smell, crisp and woodsy.  I love crackling bonfires.  I love peppermint hot chocolate.  I love cool apple cider.  I love jumping in piles of leaves.  I love apple orchards and the sights they bring.  I love the excuse to curl up with a book.  I love the beautiful nights.

I love fall.
